Meet Angela Lee - our Residential Services Manager

At T & K Support Services, leadership isn’t about titles - it’s about heart, lived experience, and a genuine commitment to people.

Our Residential Services Manager Angela brings all of that and more, guiding our residential teams with compassion, strength, and a deep understanding of what quality support truly looks like.

Inspired by Family and a Passion for Helping

Support work wasn’t just a career choice - it was personal.

“My love for helping people, along with my personal family experience, inspired me to pursue support work,” she shares. “I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to have the right support network in place, and I’m passionate about helping people live a better, fuller life.”

As a single mum raising children with dual disabilities, her lived experience has shaped not only her understanding of the system but also her empathy, resilience, and determination to make things better for others walking a similar path.

Why T & K Support Services?

T & K’s person-centred approach stood out immediately.

“I was drawn to T & K because of the genuine passion for helping others and the way the team treats every person as an individual - not just someone with a disability.”

That alignment in values made joining the organisation a natural fit. The focus on seeing the whole person - their strengths, goals, and individuality - mirrors the way she approaches both life and leadership.

What She Loves Most About the Sector

For her, the most rewarding part of the job is simple but powerful:

“Watching people grow and achieve their goals. Being part of someone’s journey and seeing their progress is incredibly rewarding.”

As Residential Services Manager, she hopes to create environments where participants feel safe, supported, and truly understood - homes where people can thrive.

Experience Grounded in Real Life

Her background combines lived experience with hands-on professional work across:

  • Mental health

  • Personal care

  • Dementia support

She spent five years working in a dementia unit, where she discovered her deep passion for supporting others. From there, she transitioned into disability support work and eventually stepped into management - bringing with her a practical, compassionate approach to leadership.

Strengths She Brings to the Team

Her team knows her for:

  • Compassion

  • Empathy

  • Genuine care

  • A positive “can-do” attitude

She leads with understanding, but also with action - always focused on solutions and outcomes that improve quality of life.

Life Outside of Work

When she’s not leading residential teams, she’s living life to the fullest.

You’ll find her:

  • Front and centre at the AFL every week - a long-time member proudly standing in the front row of the cheer squad with her flogger in hand

  • Camping or fishing with family and friends

  • Heading off on 4WD adventures

  • Gardening or painting

  • At the car races

  • Holidaying in Bali

  • Or even getting a new tattoo

She previously worked as a commercial painter, which fed her creative side - and that creativity still shows up in how she builds spaces and experiences that feel like home.

Weekends are for family, the outdoors, and making memories.

Values That Guide Her Work

Family and close friendships are central to her world - and those values flow directly into her professional life.

She leads with:

  • Empathy

  • Compassion

  • A desire to help others

  • A commitment to creating happiness

To her, community inclusion and empowerment mean ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate, belong, and achieve their goals - even if that journey looks different for each individual.

“One important lesson I’ve learned,” she says, “is that we are all different - but we can achieve the same things. Sometimes we just get there in different ways.”
