At T & K Support Services, our strength lies in the passion, experience, and heart of our team.
Prue Anderson brings all three. With a strong background in mental health, forensic environments, and education, Prue’s work is driven by a deep belief that with the right support, people can achieve more than they ever imagined.
Finding Purpose Beyond the Interview Room
Prue’s journey into support work was shaped by a desire to create meaningful, real-world change in people’s lives.
“Whilst I loved my previous role, I found it challenging to genuinely provide the support people needed confined to an interview room from 9–5 on weekdays,” she explains.
That realisation led her toward hands-on support, working alongside people in their everyday environments, where growth, connection, and genuine progress happen.
Why T & K Support Services?
Before joining T & K, Prue had already seen the organisation in action. Working closely with the team in a previous role, she witnessed firsthand the values, dedication, and unwavering commitment to participants.
“I was able to see the passion and dedication from staff to go above and beyond to support their participants, often in some of the most challenging moments,” she says.
That alignment in values made joining T & K a natural next step.
Witnessing Growth and Building Confidence
What Prue enjoys most about her work is simple but powerful: seeing people thrive.
“Whether it’s someone receiving support for the first time or finally finding the right support, it’s incredible to watch people realise what they’re capable of - regardless of their past challenges or diagnosis.”
She is equally passionate about supporting the team around her, hoping to empower staff by building their knowledge, skills, and confidence so they can deliver the highest quality support possible.
A Strong Foundation in Mental Health and Complex Support
Prue brings extensive experience across forensic and mental health settings, including roles working in male prisons, the Magistrates’ Court, and acute and extended stay mental health units. She has also worked as a clinical educator for nursing students, supporting the next generation of professionals as they developed their skills in mental health care.
Her expertise lies in supporting people with complex needs and those facing significant life adversities.
“I thrive in a little bit of chaos,” Prue says. “I’m adaptable, I think on my feet, and I’m always ready to take on a challenge.”
Her approach is grounded in empathy, compassion, and kindness - values she considers essential in every interaction.
Seeing the Person, Not the Diagnosis
One of the most important lessons Prue has learned through her work is that people are never defined by their diagnosis or circumstances.
“Everyone is so much more than first meets the eye,” she says. “The challenges people have faced are often what make them creative, resilient, and incredibly unique.”
She believes community inclusion and empowerment are about possibility - supporting people to pursue their goals, no matter how big or unconventional.
“I’m someone’s biggest cheerleader,” she says. “If you’ve got a wild idea, I won’t talk you out of it - I’ll help you figure out how to make it happen.”
Life Outside of Work
Outside of T & K, Prue’s world revolves around her three daughters. Quiet weekends at home with family are her favourite way to recharge.
She also enjoys tackling creative home projects - whether fully finished or still in progress and takes pride in turning ideas into something meaningful within her home.
Her favourites include the classic film Drop Dead Fred and music from Halsey. Her mornings, however, always begin the same way: with a triple-shot latte.
Looking Ahead
Prue is excited to be part of T & K’s continued growth and impact.
“The core values and passion from staff at all levels to make every person feel valued, seen, and supported is truly remarkable,” she says.
She looks forward to contributing to that mission-supporting both participants and staff, and helping ensure that every person T & K works with feels empowered, respected, and capable of achieving their goals.
With her experience, compassion, and unwavering belief in people, Prue plays an important role in helping T & K Support Services continue to change lives for the better.
