Meet Luke Curnow - Bringing Heart, Humour and Genuine Connection to T & K Support Services

At T & K Support Services, our people are what make us special. Every team member brings their own experiences, passions, and personality to the work they do, helping us create meaningful connections with the people we support every single day.

This month, we'd like to introduce one of our fantastic team members, Luke Curnow.

From the Kitchen to Community Support

Before joining the disability sector, Luke spent an incredible 18 years working as a chef in childcare, preparing meals and helping care for young people. While he enjoyed his time in hospitality, he was looking for something that offered even more purpose and connection.

Three years ago, Luke made the transition into disability support, and he hasn't looked back.

"I wanted meaningful work and enjoy helping people feel safe and valued."

That simple philosophy continues to shape the way he supports participants every day.

Why T & K?

When asked what attracted him to T & K Support Services, Luke says it came down to the company's strong reputation and welcoming culture.

"I liked the company's good reputation and positive work culture."

It's this shared commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive environment that makes Luke a great fit for the T & K team.

Making a Difference Every Day

For Luke, the best part of support work is building genuine relationships while helping people live life on their own terms.

He enjoys supporting participants to grow their independence, achieve their goals, and feel confident within their communities.

"I enjoy helping people, supporting independence, and building strong connections."

Looking ahead, Luke hopes to continue making a positive impact while helping create communities where everyone feels included and valued.

Strengths That Matter

Luke believes some of the most important qualities in support work are empathy, communication, and the ability to truly connect with others.

These strengths help him build trust with participants and tailor support to each person's individual needs.

One of the biggest lessons he's learned throughout his career?

"Everyone is different, so it's important to listen and adapt to individual needs."

It's a reminder that great support always starts with understanding the person first.

Life Outside of Work

When Luke isn't supporting participants, you'll usually find him doing one of two things -cooking or gaming.

After years as a chef, his love of food hasn't disappeared. On weekends, he enjoys heading out to local restaurants for dinner and drinks while spending time with friends and family.

If he could jump on a plane tomorrow?

Europe is at the top of the list.

As for his drink of choice? It's definitely coffee... or an energy drink, depending on the day!

Looking Ahead

Luke is excited about the future at T & K Support Services and is looking forward to continuing to grow alongside participants and the team.

"I'm looking forward to building meaningful relationships, growing personally, and making a difference."

We're incredibly grateful to have Luke as part of the T & K family. His caring nature, genuine compassion, and commitment to empowering others reflect exactly what our

Identity Before Diagnosis philosophy is all about.

Welcome to the spotlight, Luke—we're lucky to have you on the team!
